Our primary bathroom renovation is officially in full swing! It feels like just yesterday we were talking about ripping everything out, and now? Demo is underway! Everything in the bathroom and closets has been stripped out and reframed, and now some of the drywall and moisture-resistant walls have been put up!
You know I’m a visual person, so I started a primary bathroom mood board in March, and while I had one dreamy light fixture pinned, I knew that was just the tip of the iceberg. We need all the layers of light in here, from sconces to statement overhead lighting! As I started compiling all of my picks, it all just came together. This bathroom design is really leaning into that moody, modern, traditional vibe we love so much, and these lighting picks? They’re going to make this room sing.

Like in any room, I want there to be layers of light. And mixed metallics! Here are the lights that I chose:
- Tub nook: Oh. My. Goodness. These Gramercy Double Sconces had my heart at first glance. In a gilded iron finish with antiqued glass that looks aged to perfection, this candelabra features a hand-sculpted wheat leaf detailing that lends a natural elegance. They’re just so special for an area of the room that will always be a focal point.
- Chandelier: Every chandelier we have in the house has been a moment, you know? This large Poppy Chandelier is no exception. It’s the star of the show! Crafted from iron with this beautiful antiqued brass finish and a whopping 672 multi-faceted crystals, it’s going to absolutely sparkle. Plus, with three bulbs, it’ll actually give off some great light—which you need in a bathroom!
- Vanity: Over the double vanity, we’re going to have two of these Kean 21″ Sconces in the antique burnished brass finish. I love the touch of vintage glamour. Seriously, can’t you just picture these in a Grace Kelly & Cary Grant movie in the French Riviera? So chic!
- Closets: The Leslie 16″ Semi-Flush mount light was one of my first picks for this reno! There’s something so cool about the organic geometric shape paired with the gilded iron. It feels like the perfect marriage of styles – elevated and modern, but with this amazing historic vibe. Love, love, love it!
- Hallway: For the hallway, we went with the Lorford Medium Semi-Flush mount light in the gilded iron finish. It ties in that gorgeous gold from the closet lights, but the almost industrial shape and that mercury glass finish? It feels like it could have been plucked straight out of an old printing press room. So much character!
I also found some great fun look-alikes for less!
