Housewarming Presents Your Friends Will Love | Gift Guide

Buying a house or moving into a rental is a really big life event that can have a lot of stress surrounding it. It’s also a really big accomplishment. It can sometimes be months if not longer before you feel settled enough to have people over. But even before they’re ready for guests, I think a housewarming gift is a really nice way to acknowledge to a loved one that you did this really big thing, and I’m so happy for you. It’s a way to celebrate with someone without them feeling the need to have you over at the moment.

When it comes to my go-to housewarming gifts, I always lean on tried-and-true picks. My favorites? All the things that bring me comfort. Candles, always (I named my Lightwell collaboration HouseWarming to evoke this feeling!). Cozy throw blankets. A green potted plant. A really nice cooking spoon or spatula. An elegant pie dish. Something consumable is really fun to give. I also love giving a coffee table book. A lot of times the people moving are focused on buying paper towels and Kleenex and cleaning supplies — which, sidebar, could be a really fun bundle for a housewarming gift —but it’s also helpful to think about things that make a house feel more homey to me.

When thinking of something to give as a housewarming gift, try to stay away from something where they only need one of that product. Just focus on beautiful things that they can put around the house to make it truly feel more special, and they will feel touched by the thought you put into it.

I’ve shared a list of my favorite gifts before, but in case you’re looking for something fresh, here are even more housewarming gifts they’ll love.

Monogramed Coir Border Doormat | $69 Make them feel welcomed every time they walk through the front door.

Antique Brass & Marble Vanity Mirror | $68 The perfect way to romanticize a morning routine.

Indigo Ceramic Vase | $79 A large vase is a decor staple I swear by. Fill it with real flowers, faux stems or display it as is to make a statement.

Copper Measuring Cups | $48 Baking just got a whole lot more aesthetic. Comes in a set of 4!

Gold Oil Cruet | $42 Even better when paired with a set of olive oil!

Salt & Pepper Grinder | $10 I couldn’t believe the quality of this when I found it. Rivals some of the more expensive ones!

Waffle Hand Towel | $32 There’s nothing like moving to make you realize how much your kitchen towels need a refresh. Love a waffle weave and comes in 3 colors!

Cotton Striped Apron | $13 For the cook, baker, gardener, painter… a good apron is a welcome addition to any home.

Terry Bath Towel Starter Bundle | $186 There’s just something so luxurious about new bathroom towels and these definitely give boutique hotel vibes.

Acacia Wood Serving Board | $30 From everyday chopping to serving up a charcuterie board, every kitchen needs one of these.

Marble Salt Keeper | $20 Most cooks I know prefer a salt cellar to a shaker when cooking and the black marble on this one makes me swoon!

Graza Olive Oil Set | $45 Every new homeowner needs a pantry restock and this “Chris-approved” olive oil duo is one of the best tasting ones out there.

Marble Rolling Pin | $19 A baking staple that’s pretty enough to leave out (I keep ours on our open bookshelves!).

Titanium Always Pan Pro | $195 Settle them in to their new kitchen with the pan that does it all.

Pura Diffuser + Welcome Home Fragrance | $68 Usher in their new home era with a great signature scent. This one of cinnamon, plum, and apple checks all the boxes.

Candle Warmer Lamp | $29 Easily my most gifted item because who doesn’t love a lamp-candle combo?

Printed Match Box | $5 The prettiest little detail they never knew they needed. Pair with a great all-season candle.

HouseWarming Hand Wash & Lotion | $38 each It smells like a warm, inviting home full of memories and the name couldn’t be more spot on either.

Marble Nesting Trays | From $32 Any room in the house can benefit from a tray, but my personal favorite is in the powder bath with a beautiful set of soaps on top.

Brass Display Box | $58 I was gifted a Polaroid printer with a box like this a few years ago and we keep it on our coffee table full of the snapshots we’ve taken over the years. I’ve used the same idea and gifted it to so many others since!

Instax Mini Printer | $99 Turns phone photos into Polaroids in seconds without having to lug around an extra camera. Perfect for the homebody and the adventurer alike.

Custom Watercolor House Portrait | $16 A meaningful way to remember a past home or celebrate a new one – we have one of our cabin that I’ll cherish forever.

The Tiny Stack Frame Set | $140 Getting art on the walls after a move is the secret ingredient to it feeling more like home. Surprise them by framing some favorite memories!

Leather Tissue Box | $8 A little bit of pretty goes a long way for those utilitarian items like a tissue box.

Bottle Cut Pitcher | $50 Gift it as a vase with a bunch of fresh flowers or as a beverage pitcher for the happy host.

Woven Tray | $32 For a bathroom, entry table, guest room, or kitchen, this woven tray is about as versatile as it gets.

Marble Cheese Board | $38 The scallop detail! I’d leave this out on my kitchen counter all year long.
